What my clients say about working with me…

  • "Working with Rachel is a bloody joy! She is honest and up front about what she will provide - which is the good, the bad and the ugly. (Not so ugly in my case) and really represents her findings clearly and in an unbiased way."

    Sarah Henderson, Yolkdesign

    Rapid Impact Review customer

  • Rachel conducted an analysis of all 3 programmes, identifying the desired outcomes and then conducted a 3rd party evaluation of each programme. We have a strong view about the value of the programme we run, but have never previously sought an external 3rd party view. This is invaluable in proving the value and impact of our work. Rachel did an excellent job. Working with her was very easy and entirely comfortable. She created a rapport with all parties with whom she was required to engage and made the whole process as painless and unobtrusive as possible.

    Wing Commander Russ Barnes

SO1 Youth and STEM, The Royal Air Force

  • Rachel evaluated our performance as part of the RAF's STEM initiative, to assess the impact of the funding on students. She liased with us, and visited our sessions, talked to students and staff as part of the report. It was interesting to get an outside perspective on the work we do with students. Rachel helped us to identify the most impactful aspects of what we deliver so that we can drill down on that and ensure we use that information to build upon those aspects. She was fantastic. Very personable, good with emails, liaised well with schools, respected people's time and workload, and produced a comprehensive report that was valuable to ourselves and our partners. It was a pleasure!

  • "Rachel and Mary are two of the best impact evaluation specialists I have met to date. Their commitment to the cause, attention to detail and flexibility are a real credit to their organisation. I worked with Rachel for 2 plus years on the NHS mental health SW!TCH Minds project just before and during the Covid Pandemic. Rachel and Mary, unlike many other organisations, and like we did at Lifeline, adjusted and adapted to continue to meet the project aims and objectives. The end of project report, a 60-page document, is testimony not only to the work we did on the project but to them as evaluators. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for high quality evaluators."

    — Daniel Chery, Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Specialist. Formerly of LifeLine Projects.

  • "Rachel is a pleasure to work with. Her expertise and input have been of significant value across STEM Learning, and we continue to utilise her skills and knowledge. Rachel provides real strategic insight in her work, and does not shy away from undertaking any task. I can’t speak highly enough of Rachel, she repeatedly does a fantastic job for STEM Learning and I would thoroughly recommend her."

    — Dr Ben Dunn, Head of Evaluation and Monitoring, STEM Learning

  • "Rachel’s evaluation reports have been very useful to us: we have been able to evidence the difference we make to the lives of the young people we support, and we have benefitted from their recommendations about how we can continue to improve the way we provide our support in the future. We would definitely work with Rachel again!"

    — Nathan Singleton, Chief Executive, LifeLine Projects

  • "Rachel has been a breath of fresh air to the group and re-vitalised our focus on progressing our work. She played a pivotal role in driving forward the place-based pilots and going above and beyond her remit to support in producing documents and resources in addition to general project management support. Rachel was with us for 11 months and we would not be able to progress as much as we have without her input and support - she has been an asset to the group."

    — Amy Hall, Children's Commissioning Manager Public Health Directorate, Cambridgeshire County Council & Peterborough City Council

  • "Rachel really got under the skin of our work in no time - her ability to understand what we do, combined with her strategic expertise, meant that her contribution was absolutely bang-on straight away. She gets the detail and she brings the bigger vision along. No better way to make things happen!"

    — Katherine Mengarden, (former) Chief Educator, Little Inventors

  • "Rachel has supported a number of projects that I have worked on over my time with STEM Learning and the National Centre for Computing Education, and I have found that she is able to ask specific and structured questions to ensure that the responses we give will provide the maximum benefit for our project or programme. It has been a pleasure working with Rachel over the past few years, and I am more than happy to recommend her work to you."

    — Claire Arbery, (former) Senior Regional Network Lead and Programme Manager, National Centre for Computing Education

  • "Working with Rachel is always a great experience! She is open and flexible - quickly grasping our requirements and always ready to accommodate changes to improve the quality of the study. Whether we’re looking at long term goals or turning around tight deadlines, Rachel works collaboratively, creating clear proposals and helping us to better define and refine the desired results. She communicates regularly to help us to review the outcomes, avoid misunderstandings and achieve our goals."

    — Rachael Rogan, Director, Booktastic Children's Literature Festival

  • "Rachel has been a reliable and committed colleague who has driven the progress of our projects. It would have been easy to stop given the difficulties of the year but Rachel's commitment and can do attitude enabled these pilots to continue and for system colleagues to prioritise their engagement. Rachel has been great to work with, without her support we would have struggled to continue the pilots. Not only does Rachel clearly have great organisational skills but is able to engage with people, build rapport and genuine relationships which grows the commitment and enthusiasm of those involved."

    — Amy Edwards, Assistant Director for Service Redesign, Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust

  • "We really valued working in partnership with Rachel on some high-profile national research projects about the education system in England. Rachel brought a wealth of knowledge about the context in which schools work, and was highly effective in capturing feedback and drawing out key insights to frame findings and shape recommendations. She is pro-active, works at pace and is adept at building strong relationships with colleagues and clients."

    — Ben Bryant, Partner, ISOS Partnership

  • "Rachel helped to steer us, to keep us on track and to shape our study overall. She also provided much-needed humour and positivity. Rachel had worked with the CCC before and was highly recommended. Personally, I learnt from Rachel. How to write more succinctly, how to behave professionally, and how to keep calm when faced with impending deadlines."

    — Mary Barnes, Family Hubs Co-ordinator Cambridgeshire, Cambridgeshire Local Authority

  • "Rachel is a very thoughtful and clear communicator, which helped give the pace we were working at. She was a flexible colleague and I felt that we developed a very high level of mutual respect. It was also good fun."
